Successful partnership with WEISSER
J.G. WEISSER is a global leader in multifunctional precision lathes and turning centers and ranks among the top suppliers to the automotive industry, its suppliers, and numerous other sectors in metalworking. At WEISSER’s vertical turning center UNIVERTOR AM, our two-component coolant HYCUT is successfully used for flat honing thermally coated EURO7 brake discs.
The start of our collaboration
Thanks to the integration of DIAHON’s flat honing system into WEISSER’s modular vertical turning machine UNIVERTOR AM, and the positive experiences with our HYCUT coolant in similar projects, DIAHON recommended us to WEISSER. This recommendation marked the beginning of our successful collaboration, in which our two-component coolant HYCUT is now also being used in WEISSER’s machine tool. A key focus was to minimize clogging of the honing strips with our coolant – a challenge that is critical to the efficiency and precision of the process.
Our solution: HYCUT
To reduce the clogging of honing strips during the flat honing of brake discs and significantly increase process productivity, our two-component coolant HYCUT was successfully combined with ADDITIVE BF in this innovative project. This tailored solution helps to enhance the efficiency and lifespan of the honing strips, resulting in consistently high quality of the machined parts.
Although the project is still in the development phase, it is already showing promising results. HYCUT has proven to be highly effective by significantly reducing the clogging of honing strips, leading to consistently high machining quality and a significant reduction in downtime. The improved lubrication not only enables precise and efficient machining but also reduces wear on machines and tools, thereby lowering production costs over the long term.
Thanks to this innovative solution, the entire machining process has been optimized – greater process stability, reduced downtime, and longer tool life are just some of the key benefits. The result is a noticeable increase in productivity and improved cost-effectiveness for our partner WEISSER.
