Successful Partnership with Buchert + Feil and Distribution Partner Mehytec

A diverse range of machinery, a wide variety of materials, and high standards for process reliability and surface quality: At Buchert + Feil, the metalworking fluid used had to meet numerous requirements. In addition to reliable biostability and material compatibility, machine cleanliness and the required ZEISS approvals also played an important role.

Together with our long-standing distribution partner Mehytec, we therefore switched to FRIGOMET 850 from Oemeta in early 2025. The combination of a high-performance metalworking fluid, professional machine cleaning, and ongoing support ensures stable MWF processes today.

The Start of Our Collaboration

Oemeta and Mehytec have been working closely together since 2014. As the primary supplier, we support Mehytec with customer projects, technical issues, and new product developments. Mehytec, in turn, understands the users’ requirements and provides technical support directly on-site.

The connection with Buchert + Feil was established through the company Buchert Präzisionstechnik in Römhild. At that time, Buchert + Feil was facing various challenges related to the use of the metalworking fluid: fluctuating service life, occasional odor formation, and fungal growth in tanks and chip conveyors. In aluminum machining, it was also necessary to ensure that the required surface quality was achieved and that staining was prevented.

Our Solution: FRIGOMET 850

As a contract manufacturer, Buchert + Feil processes a wide range of materials—including steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and yellow metals. In addition to material compatibility and biostability, the required ZEISS approvals were also a key criterion in selecting the new metalworking fluid.

The choice fell on our FRIGOMET 850. Mehytec provided comprehensive support during the transition: The machines were cleaned and refilled, after which the test phase was closely monitored and the machine fleet was gradually converted to FRIGOMET 850. Since deionized water could be used on-site, the metalworking fluid performed stably from the start without requiring any major adjustments to the process.

The results of the switch are clearly evident today: The MWF values remain consistently stable, odor formation and fungal growth are no longer an issue, and control additives are now only required in exceptional cases. Machine cleaning can also be carried out much more quickly today.
