Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us - it is a commitment that we take seriously at Oemeta. As a leading manufacturer of metalworking fluids, we have a responsibility to create environmentally friendly and resource-saving solutions. Our sustainable product solutions
In addition to ensuring safe processes at low cost, sustainability attributes are becoming a key focus of Oemeta's products. We are constantly working to increase the proportion of sustainable ingredients, improve recyclability and increase the environmental impact of our products.
Our sustainable product solutions meet the quality and performance standards that our customers expect from us. We are convinced that innovative and environmentally friendly products set new standards in terms of efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
A prime example of our sustainability efforts is our HYCUT ET 46 product, which combines high performance with a sustainable approach, making it an ideal choice for companies looking to combine environmental responsibility and efficiency.
HYCUT ET 46 offers a range of sustainability benefits:
- Biogenic raw materials: 85% of the raw materials come from renewable sources, reducing the consumption of fossil resources.
- Environmentally friendly: HYCUT ET 46 is non-toxic to the environment (WGK1), which means that it poses no risk to the environment when used properly.
- Circular economy: The product is suitable for in-house recycling and can, for example, be reused as a water-mixed metalworking fluids after its initial use as a machine oil. This extends the service life of the product and reduces waste.
A special feature of HYCUT ET 46 is that 85% of the raw materials used are from renewable sources. The PCF(incl. biogenic material)* is 2.9 kg CO2e per kilogram of product and was calculated according to the standards of the methodology of the European Independent Lubricant Manufacturers (UEIL), which is compliant with ISO standard 14067:2018. In line with the "Together for Sustainability" initiative, we take into account the biogenic carbon uptake, i.e. theamount of CO2 absorbed by the biogenic raw materials during their growth. This significantly reduces the overall carbon footprint.
*The PCF specified here is a gradle-to-gate analysis. When specifying the PCF, a distinction is made between PCF(incl. biogenic material) and PCF(excl. biogenic material) .
- PCF(incl. biogenic material): The removal of CO2 through uptake in biomass is characterized in the impact assessment as -1 kg CO2eq/kg CO2 in the calculation of CFP when fed into the product system. Emissions of biogenic CO2 are characterized as +1 kg CO2eq/kg CO2 of biogenic carbon in the calculation of the CFP.
- PCF(excl. biogenic material): Removal of CO2 by uptake in biomass is characterized as +0 kg CO2eq/kg CO2 in the calculation of CFP when added to the product system in the impact assessment. Emissions of biogenic CO2 are characterized as +0 kg CO2eq/kg CO2 of biogenic carbon in the calculation of the CFP.
