Our apprentices are part of the team from day one. During their training, young Oemeta apprentices get to discover all areas of the company and are involved in exciting projects right from the word go.

Even though we’re consummate professionals, Oemeta still cultivates family structures. With us, everyone pulls together. This includes taking care of our youngsters. Training for chemical-technical professions

We offer vocational training programmes in the chemical-technical professions at regular intervals:

  • Chemical technician
  • Chemical laboratory assistant

Both training programmes are delivered in cooperation with Covestro AG in Brunsbüttel, i.e. the courses take place both in Uetersen at Oemeta Chemische Werke GmbH and in Brunsbüttel at Covestro AG.

Training for commercial professions

Our vocational training programmes for the commercial professions:

  • Industrial management assistant

Chemical technician

Regulation, monitoring, control: chemical technicians operate and supervise chemical production plants.

Requirements

  • Good university entrance qualification (Abitur) or lower secondary school qualification (Realschulabschluss)
  • Good grades in maths, physics and chemistry
  • An interest in and an understanding of chemistry and technology
  • Reliable and able to concentrate and work in a team

 

Duration of training programme: Three and a half years

Programme curriculum

  • Working methods and procedures in chemistry and physics
  • Process engineering and information technology
  • Control and monitoring of chemical production plants
  • Quality assurance, occupational safety and environmental protection
  • Basics of control engineering, electrical engineering and metalworking

Prospects

On completion of a vocational training programme, we offer the possibility of in-service qualification as a

master industrial specialist in chemistry

Chemical laboratory assistant

Analysis, experimentation and documentation: chemical laboratory technicians examine raw materials, intermediate materials and end products in chemical laboratories.

Requirements

  • Good lower secondary school certificate (Realschulabschluss)
  • Good grades in maths and science subjects
  • An interest in and an understanding of chemistry and technology
  • Hard-working, reliable and able to work in a team

Duration of training programme: Three and a half years

Programme curriculum

  • Physical and chemical testing and measurement methods
  • Preparative inorganic and organic chemistry
  • Documentation of workflows and process safety measures
  • Analysis and processing of cooling lubricant systems
  • Quality assurance, occupational safety and environmental protection

Prospects

On completion of a vocational training programme, we offer the possibility of in-service qualification as a

chemical technician

Industrial management assistant

An interesting, communicative and versatile job in business and commerce at the international level.

Requirements

  • Good lower secondary school certificate (Realschulabschluss)/business school certificate or university entrance qualification (Abitur)
  • Good grades in German, Maths and English
  • Interest in business and commerce
  • A love of numbers
  • Confident linguistic proficiency, both verbally and in writing
  • Initiative and ability to work in a team

Duration of training programme: Three years

Programme curriculum

  • Business and administration assignments
  • Export, sales, purchasing, accounting and marketing
  • Planning and scheduling for raw materials and finished goods
  • Communication with customers, partners, subsidiaries and suppliers
  • Modern IT tools such as MS Office, ERP software and electronic archiving programmes

Prospects

On completion of a vocational training programme, we offer the possibility of in-service qualification in the following professions:

  • industrial business administrator
  • specialist in purchasing and materials management
