Successful partnership with WEISSER
J.G. WEISSER is a leading global supplier of multifunctional precision lathes and turning centers and ranks among the top suppliers to the automotive industry, its suppliers, and numerous other metalworking sectors. Our two-component metalworking fluid HYCUT is successfully used on WEISSER’s UNIVERTOR AM vertical turning center for the flat honing of thermally coated EURO7 brake discs.
The start of our collaboration
Thanks to the use of DIAHON’s flat honing system in WEISSER’s modular UNIVERTOR AM vertical lathe and the positive results achieved with our HYCUT metalworking fluid in similar projects, DIAHON recommended us to WEISSER. This recommendation marked the beginning of our successful collaboration, in which our two-component metalworking fluid HYCUT is now also used in the WEISSER machine tool. A key focus was on minimizing the clogging of the honing bars through the use of our metalworking fluid—a challenge that is crucial to the efficiency and precision of the process.
Our solution: HYCUT
To reduce clogging of the honing bars during the flat honing of brake discs and significantly increase the productivity of the process, our two-component metalworking fluid HYCUT was successfully used in combination with the ADDITIV BF in this innovative project. This customized solution helps extend the efficiency and service life of the honing bars, resulting in consistently high quality of the machined workpieces.
Although the project is still in the development phase, it is already showing promising results. HYCUT has proven to be extremely effective in significantly reducing the clogging of honing bars, leading to consistently high machining quality and a significant reduction in downtime. The improved lubrication not only ensures precise and efficient machining but also reduces wear on machines and tools, thereby lowering production costs in the long term.
Thanks to this innovative solution, the entire machining process has been optimized—greater process stability, reduced downtime, and extended tool life are just a few of the key benefits. The result is a noticeable increase in productivity and improved cost-effectiveness for our partner WEISSER.
