Successful partnership with DIAHON
DIAHON, a leading global specialist in high-precision bore machining, is dedicated to the finish machining of thermally coated cylinder bores for 6-cylinder crankcases. In close cooperation with a major OEM in the automotive industry, an innovative manufacturing process was developed that ensures the optimum surface structure for maximum tribological advantage. This involved the use of sophisticated honing tools, cutting fluids and Oemeta's metalworking fluid system, which made a decisive contribution to process stability and quality.
The start of our collaboration
Before working with Oemeta, DIAHON faced several challenges: Insufficient rinsing performance led to unstable processes and higher manual effort. In addition, insufficient biostability and unpleasant odors impaired occupational safety and employee acceptance. Due to positive experiences with Oemeta products, especially the HYCUT, DIAHON contacted us directly to solve the problems and optimize the production process.
Our solution: HYCUT
The introduction of the HYCUT water-soluble metalworking fluid system in combination with ADDITIV BX was a turning point for production at DIAHON. The HYCUT system impressed with:
- Outstanding flushing performance, which significantly improves process stability when honing thermal spray coatings, electroplated coatings and other demanding materials.
- High biostability, which ensures a pleasant working environment and prevents unpleasant odors.
- Easy handling, as fewer different additives are required.
With the support of Oemeta, the optimum concentration of oil and additive proportions was developed for the specific requirements of DIAHON. In addition to a significant improvement in process stability, DIAHON was also able to increase machine running times, improve the quality of the machined surfaces and reduce costs through more efficient processes.

DIAHON was founded in 1987, now has around 30 employees at its Filderstadt site and supplies customers worldwide, including those in the automotive, hydraulics and defence industries, with tools for high-precision bore machining as well as technologies for process monitoring/optimization and offers services in this area.
