Code of Conduct (CoC)

We, Oemeta, are committed to our social responsibility as a part of our business activities and work actively towards ensuring that we sustainably observe and comply with the values and principles mentioned below.

Scope:
This CoC applies to all employees of the group of companies worldwide.
We undertake to promote compliance with the content of this CoC also on the part of our suppliers and in all other parts of the value chain - within the scope of our possibilities.
This does also include that we make sure that potential risks such as modern slavery or human trafficking are excluded along the value chain.

Compliance and business ethics:

We comply with applicable laws and other legal provisions. This applies worldwide to all countries in which we do business.

Our actions are based on universal ethical values and principles, in particular Respect for human dignity, Openness and non-discrimination due to different religions, ideologies, disabilities, age, gender and ethnic origin, appearance Prohibition of corruption and briberyRespect for the antitrust and competition law in force.

Basic rights of the employees:

We respect the privacy and personal rights of each individual employee.
We protect our employees against physical, sexual, psychological and verbal harassment and abuse.
We support a prohibition of forced labour of any kind.
It is imperative for us to comply with the protective rights of children and adolescents (prohibition of child labour).
It is part of our corporate policy to ensure an appropriate remuneration and comply with applicable national provisions (e.g. minimum wage).
Our aim is to observe the maximum working hours legally specified in the respective countries.
We respect the employees’ right to freedom of association and assembly if this is legally permissible and possible in the respective countries.

If not already mentioned in detail above, we would like to point out that Oemeta acts in accordance with the basic principles of the ILO Core Labour Standards.

Responsibility for people and nature

It is our guiding principle to act in an environmentally conscious way at all locations. 
We do not consider modern chemistry, high levels of efficiency, excellent quality and environmentally friendly production to be mutually exclusive.
Our coolants are distinguished by a very high level of compatibility with both humans and the environment.
The long service life and high performance of our products reduces consumption and waste levels.
We source a large proportion of our raw materials from renewable resources.
Our waste water is treated using modern systems.
Our company has been using environmentally friendly electricity from renewable energy sources for years.

Our quality management is certified in accordance with the QM DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Our environmental management is certified in accordance with the UM DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 standard.

We were the first chemical plant in Schleswig-Holstein to be awarded the BG ‘Sicher mit System’ (‘Systematic Safety’) seal of approval for our high level of health and safety protection.

Implementation and enforcement

We make all appropriate and reasonable efforts to implement and apply the principles and values described.
An analysis and evaluation of the principles is part of our annual “Management Review”.
