Determination of the Concentration of Water Solubilised Oils by Acidimetric Titration

The Oemeta Test Kit enables every user of water miscible cutting fluids to determine accurately and on the spot the concentration.
This easy and low cost possibility of determining the concentration helps you to control your used emulsion /-solution. Only the optimum concentration for your special operation ensures excellent manufacturing results, economic efficiency and best health and safety conditions at the work place.

The determination of the concentration is based on the basic character of the cutting fluid. With a soft acid you titrate all alkaline substances that are inside the fluid to a specific pH-value, where the indicator changes his colour. The consumption of the acid multiplicated with a product specific factor, gives the concentration of the cutting fluid.
In contrary to the measurement by refractometer, deviation due to floating tramp oil can be excluded.

Content of Test Kit

• 2 graduated measuring tubes
• 1 stopper to seal the tubes
• 1 bottle of indicator
• 1 bottle of titration agent
• 1 graduated pipette

This equipment is good for at least 50 shots to determine the concentration. Indicator and titration agent can be ordered separately.
